The Yamaha Music School concept originated in Japan in 1954 as an experimental music class - and it wasn't until 1965 when the schools were expanded to include overseas locations. Today the YMS phenomenon is worldwide, supported by teachers and musicians alike, the Yamaha system has something to offer for people at every skill level.
Yamaha Music School exams are accredited by Trinity College London, and after completing Grade 5, you can earn yourself precious UCAS points for University. What better way to earn those points than by doing something you really love doing!

Using the tried and tested Yamaha teaching methods, developed and honed since the 1950s, Yamaha students learn to play in the most enjoyable environment possible.
